new shit!

what girl DOESN'T need a jacket with sparkly lapels. no tell, me, if you know someone, i'm actually interested!
purchased on boxing day from dangerfield for $40 down from$148!!! HECK YES.

I call this my i-listen-to-bands-that-don't-even-exist-yet pose.
how do we feel about tipped back hats? I'm unsure, my sister hates it... Ponderous.

Previously mentioned new jeans in the most extreme acid wash ever!!! Super dooper I say. AND for $40. purchased these by accident yesterday, totally not what we were there for. This top is from boxing day too, worked out to $16 from country road!!! Amazement. Also got it in blue.
AND the hat was the main part of my Xmas pres from my sister. Isn't she lovely.

Actually didn't wear the hat, was a casual night that I probs could've worn trackies too, we made impromtu souvlakis and played uno attack, was mad fun. Who knew having cards spat at you could be so entertaining!

Kind of boring post, hope you didn't fall asleep. Happy NYE everyone!!! I'm heading down to a mates on the coast so won't be posting till at least the 2nd, drink safe, party hard!

Currently playing TKO by Le Tigre. F'ing love this song.
it just changed to Darling by Sons & Daughters. Also F'ing amazing. Hope this tiny font isn't straining your eyes too much. Should stop typing now.

how to...

save money, even when there seem to be so many reasons to spend instead.

"but the sales are SO GOOD after christmas!"
- ok, I'll agree with that one! If you're gonna buy, buy now. BUT, if you're serious about saving, take your credit, access, whatever cards OUT OF YOUR WALLET. Replace them with the gift voucher/card thingos you got from you aunties cousins sister or Whoever. Insert any cash presents you received. REMOVE ALL OTHER CASH. If it Isn't There, You Can't Spend It. When you're shopping you WILL feel a tad depressed, but remember the trip/car/iPod/space mission you're saving for and it'll fade. If you do go for a massive blow out, remember you won't be able to spend money for ages afterwards, unless your just the worst saver ever and don't actually save anything.

"WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR FOR NEW YEARS?!?!?!"
- ummm, CHILL THE F*** OUT! Who are you spending new years with? Your besties? Boyfriend? Family?! They see you multiple times a week, and half of them probably won't take toooo much notice of what your wearing. Save something you bought in the boxing day/post xmas sales for NYE cause there is ZERO reason to spend AGAIN. Buy a $5 ring to wear if it makes you feel better, spend longer doing hair/make up. Borrow something for a sibling or sympathetic friend. New Years is [in my not-so-humble opinion] usually a massive disappointment. Think of how many cocktails you could buy in Thailand with the money you're thinking of spending on clothes. Yeah. I thought so.

"But magazines/blogs/rich friends/cunning advertising make it so difficult to stop spending, especially at this time of year."
Read a bloody book instead, and get some self control. This just isn't gonna fly as an excuse with anyone except MAYBE yourself. And even then, expect Shoppers Remorse. Though remember, that IS what receipts are for.
nb: I totally sympathise with this though, click to see why. Lucky for me shipping is a bitch and means its totally not worth it.

"It's christmas/my-birthday-soon, don't I deserve a present to myself? Been a long year..."
Pffffffft. Trust me when I say, this is difficult to write, but consider whatever you buy with any money/vouchers your present to yourself. It's hard, but it's not like you don't have other new things to occupy your time. Really. Don't lie now. OR buy yourself the most expensive drink on the menu when you go out for your bday, YUMMY and cheaper* than whatever else you were thinking of buying.
*I am fully aware this may not be true. Proceed with caution if you're in a cocktail bar on brunswick st...or similar.

"I'm soooo hungry I could dddddie!"AND "Coffee is my oxygen. Fading...Fast..."
GO HOME. EAT YOUR PARENTS FOOD/FOOD YOU'VE ALREADY BOUGHT.
I cannot stress this enough, eating out is the Absolute Best Way to Lose Money and have No Idea Where It Went. Avoid places like Pancake Parlour where the food is overpriced but delicious so there is no way you won't buy something. Find the cheap chinese bakery near your work, live off their sausage rolls. Trust me, there are ways around this, but be strong! The coffee thing...This is totally me. All I can say is make one before you leave the house in the morning and if you do buy, buy the smallest size. No extra shot, no expensive crap. At work, see if there isn't provisions for a kettle and a plunger, BYO grounds and hey presto! Instant coffee is a crock o' shite, don't go there, will not satisfy anything.

Now I just need to follow my own advice better...

Coming soon, the jeans i bought yesterday...oooooh crap I suck.

if only by stezki

if only. click through to polyvore to know what everything is. note: blue tights to be worn under the ripped jeans. i wish this, my dream wardrobe, was more similar to my actual wardrobe. the discrepancies are depressing. it is unfortunate that this past year during which my style has become much more pronounced i have also been spending money on things other than clothes and thus, had less money to spend on clothes. despite earning more money, in general. no wonder uni students are poor, WHERE DID IT ALL GO?

love you like a fat kid loves cake

super.fantastic.picture.time [1&2]

weardrobe [3&4] chictopia [5]

in case you didn't quite get it, i want some acid wash jeans, though preferably some that don't make me look like a fat kid who loves cake. number 3 might be a read possibility, they're cheap monday :). you know what would be mad...acid wash leggings. OOOH. what an awesome idea. if i can be f'd maybe ill do a diy :).*

double time

another day, another shift, a different shop, a different outfit.

vintage cardi, bag and belt which was actually my mums. went around her hips if you can believe it. dress by cyn, leggings and shoes as previous. these outfits were several days apart, incase you were stressed they were fundamentally a tad similar. i know you were, don't lie.

i was literally half way out the door when i decided to take these. its possible ive worn this exact outfit before and posted it here, but thats really just a technicality. familiar is comfortable, and handy when you have 8 minutes to get out of the house and you're still in your pjs.

now that christmas is over...

will be working much less, i might actually have time to post every now and again. how nice. until i start work at the australian open to which i wear a uniform. doesn't make for very interesting 'i wore this to work today' posts does it. speaking of which...
wore this to work sometime last week actually, when it was cold and wet. xmas day was beautiful sunny and warm, first dip in the pool for awhile, twas rather lovely! wearing: valleygirl dress, lollipop jacket, supre leggings and kmart shoes. $100 outfit right here peeps. one ring was a gift, the other was i think $15? pretty good huh. i think so.

CAN'T BLOG, LIVING LIFE. sorry.

i do wish it was winter though. i don't mind when its sunny as long as its low maybe mid 20s. like today actually. tis happy weather. the fashion bores me. though. the snood/scarf/neckwarmer above looks so cosy, I love snuggly clothes.

lol at this pic from an outing the other night though.
1. way too close
2. pretty sure i have eyes
3. didn't even know this was being taken.
4. mad ring though [rose from etsy]

someday somewhere somehow

pants - seduce, top - supre, cardi, brooch & bag - vintage, new snake ring - diva
finally got my hair cut and thus totally wasted this outfit with which i was really quite pleased!

resistance is futile, and often misguided

in this particular case, i avoided one club in particular and was rewarded upon going there for a birthday with very reasonably priced drinks, only slightly pretentious crowd [what can you expect really] and three rooms one with live music one with house the other with novelty/retro tunes. well dang me, now i gotta go back.

i wore the dress in my profile pic here, which i just realised is also the dress im wearing in my profile pic on chictopia, though they're from different nights. lol how random.

...outfit me...
im not sure why it looks smoky since smoking in clubs is illegal... im on the left, good ponytail huh! the best that ive got outfit wise, courtesy of a friend with Really Bad Aim!

dress - hello gorgeous
belt & bag - vintage
bangles: clear - luxe accessories, gret - accessory company @ Myer, black faceted - coo ca choo @ dangerfield
in the top pic you can see the white thing on my necklace, tis a mimco elephant, 18th prez from my sister, quite special to me.

inspired

i picked this up in a boutique, its a catalogue for a brand called typical star which i knew i liked but had only seen the occasional piece here and there and still only know of 2 stockists. my new love was reaffirmed by this little book and the pieces i found in the store. they were unexpectedly expensive [based on passed experience] but this shop is known to mark things up and well, i'm cheap. ha.

if i owned the dress on the left in every colour of the rainbow i could die happy. well. maybe just like, a navy blue or something would be good. someone told me the other day the colour they associate with me is white, which i though was odd given this past winter i wore a shit load of black and charcoal. EDIT: BOO HOO the dress is $200 :(:(:( off to do an ebay search.

also LOVING the models hair, i wore mine like this the same night though i looked less edgy-pretty and more five-year-old-wannabe. these things happen.

just found possibly the CUTEST THING EVEN on jak & jil

listening to SHAKE IT - KATE MILLER-HEIDKE

accidentally shredded

wore this short sleeved cardigan today and came the the huge revelation that its exhibiting the shredding that camille made the coolest thing in the blogosphere recently I know I've tried it, don't lie so have you*. i bought this from a fabric store near my house which is the main source of the countless buttons which adorn hair slides and rings alike in my household. they hold sewing classes there which I've been meaning to look into for THE longest time, and they occasionally have a random rack of clothing, upon which I found this cardi. Ok so that was waaaaay more than you ever needed to know about the procurement of an item of clothing. deal with it.

one of my best friends has the most ridiculously dramatic life ever it boggles my mind, her boyfriend on 3 years cheats on her, BAM her grandpa dies BAM the ex hooks up with one of her oldest friends. and this is AFTER about 18 months of just constant drama, mostly to do with said ex boyfriend. it's totally insane and totally unfair and she TOTALLY needs to get a thicker skin. sometimes it can be really hard to do the right thing and be the friend you ought to be when really you just want to go to bed/read a book/blog/do anything but have ANOTHER hour long phone conversation about Whatshisname. im not a bad person i swear but really, what else is there to say?

more random photos cause i took them and may as well...

just in case you were wondering, i do wear shoes when i leave the house, i'd just already removed them when i took these. cha. wore this to work for you know, context.

* don't know about you but i found it oddly therapeutic. i did it to some crap tops and came to the realisation that i like it when its done super neatly and im not patient enough/willing to loose a top to do it. oh well. now, i have this cardi!

holidays!!!

that title was sung by the way...

so a few days ago, I finished exams. It was awesome. It also explains the serious lack of posting recently, I haven't exactly been lounging around at home this whole time. It's been heaps of fun actually. Here's an outfit from the other day, just some work you know, the usual. I'm really bad at taking photos of my outfits when I go out at night so day time will have to be it.

found!

A place that sells Minkpink online, and not just the crap stuff!!!

I WANT THIS TOP.
So excited, for those who don't know Minkpink is a street wear brand that does cute dresses, tees, tanks and skirts [among other things] at AMAZING prices. It makes me happy. Theres a shop near my house that sells all sorts of brands like Wish, Manning Cartel, Shakuhachi, Aje and all sorts of expensive stuff, Nobody Jeans, PeepToe shoes and so on. And they sell Minkpink. Anything by Minkpink is WAY cheaper that everything else in the store and its pretty much what keeps me going back. So, to see what I'm raving about have a look at About a Girl or EVEN the Minkpink Blog! Mad.

Now selling...

cute huh. lol...

daggy tennis prep sunnies miniature cute bored hungry

I walked in the door with my friend B at roughly 6:45. Am. We and D had been at R [or K I can't decide. Perhaps K] yep K'a place, and we started watching a movie way later than advisable and then it finished and it was light. What the eff. Confusing in the extreme. Cause I hadn't been out or drinking and the lightness was really sudden. Hard to describe. Anyway. I came home said 'Hi' to my dad who was EATING BREAKFAST and B was staying at mine [lucky her parents would've died] and I went to bed. In full daylight. Got up at 10:30 to go to work. Now THAT, was fun. :|

But you know what, it actually was. *happy sigh*.

twix

best chocolate bar. maybe. at least one of them. yeah.

outfit meeeeeee is above AND below today. holla. New tee [miss shop] & hadn't worn this blazer in a while, partly due to warm weather, partly due to rotation of things I'm obsessed with in my wardrobe. So I went and wore it 2 days in a row. Figures. I actually didn't wear it for most of the day above cause it was sunny as and yeah. Last exam [FKN. A.] and then shopping. Bought a scarf see: below.
oh. wearing; wittner shoes, random black jeans, vintage belt & scarf, Lollipop Blazer.

So I'm fully aware my posing/setting SUCK, more aware than you probably. I'm also surprisingly tough on the photos I post, if I ever take less than 5 its cause im literally running out of time or in a randomly good mood. Usually end up wishing I'd taken more when I look at them though. It actually happens way more often if I'm not wearing jeans. Note: the jeans uniform probs needs work... New scarf from Dangerfield. Grey Cheap Mondays, Lollipop blazer, topshop shoes.

SOMEONE TEACH ME HOW TO POSE. PLEASE.

Went out last night had fun, wore a skirt I hadn't worn before finally, total time crunch=no piccies. Next time. I'm only just getting the feeling back in my little toes fyi. Have you heard about that surgery people are getting to amputate their little toes so they can wear pointier/higher heels/shoes?!!?!? Tad extreme. Models will be forced to have it done in like...20 years time or something. Calling it early. *shudder*.

peace out kiddies.
